Ideological conflict in the radical environmental group Earth First!
Article Abstract:
The ideological divisions within the North American radical environmental organisation Earth First! led to its disintegration. While the old guard was for strict concentration on wilderness issues, the new guard wanted an extension of the organizational platform to include social issues. An external factor responsible for the break-up was possible FBI involvement. It was the 'no compromise' attitude of the old guard which undermined other interests that were at stake. The issue of organization developing into a mass movement also raised controversies.

Article Abstract:
Canada's Green Plan is an example of the concept of governmentality which is a combination of institutional centralization, power enhancement and the emergence of scientific knowledge. The Green Plan outlines how the country aims to achieve sustainable development. It aims to make the population environmentally conscious and active through education complemented by environmental exercises and drills. In doing so, the government acknowledges that environmental responsibility is to be shared by both the government and the populace.

Non-governmental organizations and governance states: The impact of transnational environmental management networks in Madagascar
Article Abstract:

It is argued that the relationships of environmental organizations are at once reflective of and constitutive of emerging forms of global environmental governance, namely the production of governance states.
