Impact of global trade and subsidy policies on developing country trade
Article Abstract:
The pattern of trade distortion is examined and the estimates of the market and welfare effects they impose on different developing countries are provided. Multilateral cuts in tariff bindings are helpful as they can lock in previous unilateral trade liberalizations, and they can be used as an opportunity to multilateralize the preferential trade agreements and thereby reduce the risk of trade diversion from those bilateral or regional arrangements.
