Article Abstract:
The victory of the moderate Mohammad Khatami in Iran's 1997 presidential elections will impact the country's domestic politics, international relations and the economy. Khatami plans to continue the framework of Islamic theocracy and will probably not make drastic changes in relations to the West. His focus will be on domestic socio-cultural issues. Article Abstract:
An insight into the political, social, and economic consequences of the boom in population that took place after the 1979 Islamic revolution under Ayatollah Khomeini is presented.
