Selective nonproliferation is a hollow posture
Article Abstract:
America's failure to implement a truly universal and nondiscriminatory policy of nuclear nonproliferation is what drove India and Pakistan to conduct their own nuclear weapons tests. In fact, the US policy ever since has been one of preferential and selective proliferation, as shown in its support for the nuclear programs of Israel, France and the UK. Furthermore, India's unexpected nuclear tests underscored the incompetence of the intelligence community in the US.

Arafat remains a partner in peace - barely
Article Abstract:
The Israeli Minister of International Cooperation believes that the peace process in the Middle East has come to a standstill because Yasser Arafat has not called for an end to violence. He stresses that, according to the Middle East agreement in Oslo, disagreements should be dealt with using dialogue, not violence, but Arafat has broken that agreement and Israeli is merely trying to stop the violence.
