The need for a Southern African Development Institute in the proposed framework for the economic integration of Southern Africa
Article Abstract:
Economic integration efforts in South Africa, such as the Economic Community of West African States and the Southern African Development Community have failed due to various factors. First, there is a lack of political will in implementing these efforts. Second, the legislature has failed to pass laws that would balance legal and commercial systems. Third, some members have dominated the others due to wide discrepancies in economic conditions.

Is small "beautiful" for economic integration?
Article Abstract:
The economic integration of small economies located in the Western Hemisphere has been influenced by various limitations. These countries have limited choices in product specialization due to a small production base. Their economies are unstable due to their vulnerability to supply and demand shocks. Under certain conditions, economic integration can help lessen the gap between small and large economies.
