Welfare reform and workfare programs are examined via a metatheory of sociological and economical explanations for human behavior. Discussion focuses on ideologies regarding those living in poverty, including the rationally conventional poor, the rationally unconventional poor, the nonrationally conventional poor, and the nonrational and unconventional poor.

Testing the new welfare: lessons from a survey of small business
Article Abstract:
Survey results indicate that small business owners would be more willing to create jobs if the government were to subsidize half of hiring and training expenses. A discussion of the impact of welfare reform on the labor market is also provided.

Epilepsy is within realm of primary care; diagnosis includes testing as well as history and physical examination

Primary-care physicians should screen patients for epilepsy rather than leave diagnosis to neurologists or epileptologists. If this condition is diagnosed, primary care practitioners can administer treatment.
