Moscow summit brings two minor arms control agreements
Article Abstract:
Presidents Bill Clinton and Boris Yeltsin signed two arms control agreements during their Sep 1-2, 1998 summit meeting in Moscow. The agreements were on the cooperation of early-warning information and the disposal of plutonium which would no longer be used for military purposes. The agreement on early-warning information would bind the countries to share information on launches of ballistic missiles and space-launch vehicles. For the second agreement, both countries said they would eliminate 50 metric tons of plutonium from their nuclear weapons.
