National environmental groups and Europeanisation: a survey of the British environmental lobby
Article Abstract:
The UK's environmental lobby does not have a strong relationship with EU. Majority of the country's environmental associations have very limited contact with their counterparts in the European mainland. These organizations see continental Europe as a distant region even if they acknowledge the significance of EU. These groups give more value to their relationships with UK's national government. As such, there is greater interdependency among UK's environmental lobby, with greater emphasis on the national government as a lobbying target and a shift in the lobby's focus.

Financing environmental policy in East Central Europe
Article Abstract:
The marketization and democratization of East Central Europe was anticipated to encourage a flow of funds for the creation of a solution to the environmental problems prevailing in the region. The resulting political openness created the perception that there will be an influx of investment and foreign aid from the West. However, Western sources which were expected to provide the bulk for the funds offered only limited funding. Furthermore, the implementation of an environmental policy proved difficult without the appropriate regulatory framework.

British environmental politics in the 1990s
Article Abstract:
British politics lacks an environmental agenda despite the requirements imposed by the 1992 Rio conference on environment. Environmentalism in Britain is manifested in its growing connection to mainstream political agendas. Britain's form of environmentalism is politically permeated with socio-economic issues. Although environment as a political issue has started making its impact, it is yet to establish itself. NGOs, bureaucrats, and local authorities should be made aware of the challenges in this area.
