Television images of the devastation and human agony, scenes of parents getting separated from children, wives from their husbands proved the seriousness of the tsunami disaster. The Thailand's tourist industry and economy were affected and it also had an effect on the political campaigns launched for elections on February 6, 2005.

From Dayton to Brussels
Article Abstract:
The success of the Dayton Peace accords that ended the Bosnian war when sixty thousand NATO-led troops flooded into the country to enforce the deal comes as a surprise to many. Though the war was ended by Dayton, it is clear that threat to the country has receded, if not vanished.
