Article Abstract:
Three schools of thought regarding the US's role in world politics are discussed. New Isolationism suggests that the US should give priority to domestic problems. New Nationalism suggests that the US should have a significant role in the world politics after the disintegration of the Soviet Union. Practical Internationalism refers to the optimum use of international institutions for American interests. The American public believes that the country should focus on the hitherto neglected domestic issues.
