Putting the nuclear genie back in the bottle
Article Abstract:
International efforts toward the control of nuclear and biological weapons are highlighted by the signing of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty, the Biological Weapons Convention and the Chemical Weapons Convention. However, additional controls must be set up due to the threats posed by terrorists and military dictators. The International Atomic Energy Agency should take a lead role in these efforts.

The emerging conflict in the world economy is between nations with varying stages of development. In East Asia, the presence of developmental economy allows the lagging nations to catch up with the leading nations. Therefore, the coexistence of different forms of capitalism in various stages of development is important in free trade.
