The classics: a family tradition
Article Abstract:
The mother-daughter team of Janis Rozena Peri, a classical soprano and Zerrobia Powell Perry, a composer has chalked up performances on television, off-Broadway, European tours and Even Carnegie Hall. Peri is also professor at the West Virginia University while Perry is a full time composer. The duo believe that bond between women and between mothers and daughters is particularly important when conditions are hostile to women. Peri favors compositions by women while Perry composes for women who often have limited venues for their performances.
