The contingency of corporatist influence: Incomes policy in the Netherlands
Article Abstract:
The role of corporatist intermediation and that of the parties in government with respect to the formation of incomes policy in the Netherlands during the period 1965-2000 is examined, with an aim to assess the claims as regards the usefulness of corporatism and role of coalition government, particularly social democracy, in incomes policy formation. The Dutch study suggests that the performance of a social democratic party in government in a corporatist context is less directly effective.
