The costs of lite anti-Americanism
Article Abstract:
This article discusses the negative aspects of anti-Americanism that is not rooted in violence, such as Islamic militants, but is based upon vocal criticism. The author argues, that while 'lite' anti-Americanism is largely seen as innocuous, it actually serves to undermine significant attributes of democracy, weakening the legitimacy of governments abroad and strengthening the unilateral position of the United States.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is a nondemocratic Organization that has an impact on democracy's prospects in poorer countries. The IMF was created as a functional cooperative by the Bretton Woods agreement in July 1944 and made a specialized United Nations (UN) agency three years later.

The real story behind Venezuela's woes
Article Abstract:
Issues concerning the Venezuelan economy and politics are discussed. It is emphasized that despite widespread poverty, Venezuelan people were led to believe that the country is amongst the richest in the world. Causes of poverty and prospects for economic reforms are examined.
