The factors accounting for variations across the states in individual and family health insurance contributions, pension benefits, paid leave, child and elderly care and average salary are identified. The determinants of compensation include variables such as state employee union density and cost of living.

Employee performance evaluation in social welfare offices
Article Abstract:
Welfare workers have not had their performance evaluations changed since the introduction of the welfare-to-work program. Welfare workers are not attempting to decrease their caseloads, possible concern about job security, and not being given lower performance ratings by their supervisors.
