Developing countries and the GATT/WTO dispute settlement mechanism
Article Abstract:
The World Trade Organization (WTO) and General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) dispute settlement mechanism serves as a tool for developing countries in solving their trade-related problems. On the other hand, the existence of the WTO/GATT dispute settlement mechanism mirrors the defectiveness of GATT in addressing mounting problems facing Third World countries. The participation of third world countries in WTO dispute settlement system is better compared with the GATT's mainly because of the former's improved law.

The developing countries and the shaping of GATT/WTO antidumping law
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to examine the World Trade Organization's Antidumping Agreement based on the perspective of developing nations. Multilateral regulations on dumping were also analyzed, including submissions extended by the countries during the Uruguay Round of Multilateral Trade Negotiations. Results indicated that the participation of developing nations in multilateral trading negotiations promotes a number of benefits to the counties. Findings also suggested the need for developing countries to advocate the exemption of perishable primary goods from all types of antidumping regulations.
