The moral legacy of the Cold War
Article Abstract:
The threat of nuclear weapons can be minimized by removing land- and sea-based missiles from the field. These missiles create both operational and logistical risks since the weapons can be immediately deployed within a short period of time. Nobody knows if the weapons were a deterrent to possible armed confrontations during the Cold War. US should play a lead role in the elimination of this threat to the human populace.
