The relationship between participation and managerial autonomy in Cuba's basic units of cooperative production: Six case studies
Article Abstract:
The relationship between participation and management autonomy is influenced by the creation and development of the basic units of cooperative production (UBPC), which has increased the space for participation and managerial autonomy. In the cases studied, the functioning of the UBPCs appears to be occasionally hampered by the excessive powers of the state enterprises over the units.

The Cuban political system in the 1990s: Continuity and change
Article Abstract:
The political system began to erode in the1990s in Cuba due to which it faced an uncertain situation of stemming from the reform process and from capitalist globalization. Without continuity and change in its political system, Cuba cannot preserve the gains made in the process of pursuing its historical mission.
