Binary visions, black consciousness, and bling bling
Article Abstract:
A review of literary works, old and new that highlight the fight of the African-American against racism and injustice is presented. It is argued that the older political activists must make a conscious effort to listen to the Hip Hop generation whose concern is material gain, (bling bling) to build a bridge and win them over to their cause for justice.
