The scope of public administration continuing education in universities
Article Abstract:
An exploratory study on continuing education is presented, partly to provide an initial database on this vital topic that has sadly been rarely studied, despite its importance to many universities. One such aspect of continuing education that has been scarcely dwelt upon refers to how further studies on public administration tend to be more training- than degree-focused, such as that found in MPA and DPA degrees. The study focused on types and amount of training, number of enrollees, training partners, personnel, the significance of continuing education as against other functions such as MPA programs or research, and perceptions regarding what the top programs are.

Contemporary public sector productivity values: narrower scope, tougher standards, and new rules of the game
Article Abstract:
Public sector productivity has undergone substantial changes going into the new millennium. Expectations over the standards and rules used to measure productivity has become higher and stricter. These changes have also raised value and ethical standards across the public sector, particularly across personnel management, purchasing of supplies and the establishment of lean and flexible organizational structures. Both managers and employees thus have to coordinate and exert effort in supporting these changes for an improved overall performance by the public sector.
