The status quo and prospects of Sino-U.S. trade relations
Article Abstract:
Anti-dumping charges, trade imbalance, the unsettled issue of most-favored-nation status, and the one-China policy are the major issues hindering the growth of US-China trade. The Sino-US Trade Agreement, signed in 1979, has led a vast multi-billion dollar trade relationship and the US's position as China's third largest investor. The one-China policy became a sore point between the US and China following Taiwanese leader Lee Tenghui's US visit in 1995.
