Research describing the legal framework within which the relationships between China and the European Union operate in the sector of investments is presented. Particular attention is given to direct investment of the European Union into China.

Issues surrounding regulation of investment in infrastructure projects by foreign investors and the arising conflict are examined. Existing international treaties and development of new regulations are considered as methods of risk control.
