US foreign policy and nuclear weapons today
Article Abstract:
The US nuclear weapons capability remains relevant to the current state of international relations in general and on three major issues in particular. The US should adopt a 'tacit' policy of deterrence towards Russia and China which would convey the message that a particular action could lead to adverse consequences. US foreign policy towards Japan and Germany should be one of 'reassurance' such that the two former enemies of the US would not feel threatened in any way. Finally, the US should exert all efforts to deny rogue countries any access to nuclear weapons.

Religion and global affairs: political challenges
Article Abstract:
The end of the 20th century is marked by the revival of religious movements around the world. These movements are not only religious in nature but social and political awakenings characterized by a search for identity, authenticity and community. These are founded within unjust societies and espouse a return to the foundations of faith. Challenges posed by these movements to governments are discussed.
