Environmental interest representation in Belgium and the EU: professionalisation and the division of labour within a multi-level governance setting
Article Abstract:
Environmental representation differences in Belgium and the EU reveal that representation configurations show little differences but Belgian environmental interest groups are more subject to state reforms than the European integration process. The Belgian configuration, however, showed a slightly more internal involvement of environmental interest groups in the policy-making process.

The rBST ban - a taste of what's to come for GM foods?

An analysis is presented on the European Union's proscription of the artificial bovine somatotropin rBST for use in dairy production, focusing on the political implications. The author argues that the process forged alliances and established practices that have set precedents for negotiating a legal market presence for genetically modified foods.
