A comparison of psychopathology in eating disorder patients from France and the United States
Article Abstract:
A comparison is made between the psychopathology of eating disorder patients in France and those in the US using the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory. The following groups of patients were examined in both countries: those with restricting anorexia nervosa (AN-R), those with bulimia only, those with both bulimia and anorexia during the present episode of illness, and those with bulimia only during the present episode of illness but with a history of anorexia. No significant differences were found between American and French samples, except those in the AN-R group.

Effects of coping style and negative body image on eating disturbance
Article Abstract:
The effects of negative body image and coping strategies on poor eating behavior were examined. The Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations, Eating Attitudes Test and three negative body image indices were used on 128 college women subjects. Results reveal the relationship between emotion-oriented and avoidance oriented coping and negative body image. Results also indicate that high-use of emotion-oriented coping promotes eating disturbance.
