A semantic space approach to representations of self and other in pathological grief: a case study
Article Abstract:
People entering therapy due to having suffered pathological grief were studied before, during and after therapy. The semantic space model was found to be useful in describing progress during therapy for pathological grief. The descriptions of the model were similar to descriptions of the feeling-states given during the course of therapy. The model captured the dependency, fear of being abandoned and fear of commitment which are characteristic of those with a grief reaction. The model also captured change during therapy.

Left-hemisphere dominance for motion processing in deaf signers
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to analyze visual motion perception in deaf individuals and compared their performance against hearing subjects. Thresholds and reaction times were determined for a motion discrimination tasks in central and peripheral visions. Results indicated differences in the relative performance between left-visual-field and right-visual-field stimuli. Findings suggested that for deaf subjects, the left hemisphere may be specialized for motion processing.

Getting the right idea: semantic activation in the right hemisphere may help solve insight problems
Article Abstract:
The role of hemispheric differences in information processing in helping solve insight problems was investigated. Two experiments involving right-handed participants showed that coarse semantic coding in the right hemisphere can activate distantly related but solution-relevant information that results in the recognition of the solution or solution path. This activation of the right hemisphere contributes to the production of creative or insightful solutions.
