Article Abstract:
This article examines the difference of rates of imprisonment, prison conditions, and the use of capital punishment internationally. The author, employing regression analysis and discriminant analysis, concludes homicide rates impact imprisonment rates, levels of inequality impact prison conditions, levels of human development and freedom influences use of capital punishment, and historical-cultural factors impact all three aspects of criminal justice.
