Test construction in the 1990s: recent approaches every psychologist should know
Article Abstract:
Several changes have taken place in the area of test construction methodology by redefining content and statistical specifications, item selection and test review processes. The current practice is to elaborate the concept of a construct using two main approaches, estimation of levels of underlying variables and proportions of domains. Those test items that yield a test information function matching the target, are selected. The items must meet content and statistical criteria, and the test must meet all the requirements related to its use.
