Annotation: outcome of anorexia nervosa in the younger patient
Article Abstract:
A study on the outcome of anorexia nervosa in a younger patient was conducted to determine the outcome in and treatment for, early-onset of anorexia. Results show that despite outlined methodological shortcomings or flaws and limitations in knowledge about the disorder, anorexia nervosa still remains to be a bothering ailment that troubles a significant number of patients. Since it affects even the younger generation, more studies are expected to be undergone to make sure that patients overcome it.

Practitioner review: Psychosocial interventions for children with selective mutism: A critical evaluation of the literature from 1990-2005
Article Abstract:
A review is undertaken to provide support for the use of behavioral and cognitive-behavioral interventions for selective mutism (SM) child. Effective treatment approach for SM child who experiences significant social anxiety and is mute at school would include individual psychotherapy focusing on communication skills and anxiety management in addition to a behavioral program implemented concurrently in the school setting to shape appropriate verbal communication.

A long-term outcome study of selective mutism in childhood
Article Abstract:
A controlled study was conducted to determine the long-term outcome of selective mutism (SM) in childhood. The results of SM study provide evidence of symptomatic improvement of SM in young adulthood, however, a high rate of phobic disorder at outcome points to the fact that SM may be regarded as an anxiety disorder variant.
