Are fairness constraints on profit-seeking important?
Article Abstract:
Previous research conducted experiments wherein consumers were allowed to retaliate against firms that used unfair business practices. This can occur assuming that consumer perceptions of a firm's fairness in terms of price and wage policies has a significant effect on demand for the firm's goods. In this situation, a price increase may lead to a drop in demand by a larger amount than that expected due to the price effect alone. Two experiments conducted to test this hypothesis confirm these results.

Values, environmental attitudes, and buying of organic foods
Article Abstract:
The way people value goods has long been hypothesized to affect consumer behavior. This hypothesis is tested by examining the relationship between the values of Danish teachers and their consumption behavior of organic foods. Particular focus is put on how their values affect their environmental attitudes and, thus, their purchase of organic foods. The results confirm the theory as well as the viability of using the Schwartz Value Inventory of 56 values in consumer behavior research.

In search of missing links: comments on three papers on spending and consumption
Article Abstract:
The works of Belk (1995), Dittmar et al. (1995) and Marell et al. (1995) on different aspects of spending and consumption are reviewed. The study of Dittmar and colleagues is similar to the Belk study in that both address gender differences. It is also similar to Marell et al.'s work in the sense that the two bodies of research are based on the belief that consumer behavior is influenced by the perceived gap between a current state and a more abstract ideal.
