Barriers to treatment participation scale: evaluation and validation in the context of child outpatient treatment
Article Abstract:
The hindrances that families encounter during child outpatient treatment as well as their role in the participation and completion of therapy were investigated using the Barriers to Treatment Participation Scale. Findings revealed that the scale yielded high levels of internal consistency wherein the experience of barriers to participation predicted higher rates of dropping out of treatment. Perceived barriers also added information in predicting participation in treatment. These suggested that barriers to treatment participation can identify cases at risk for dropping out.

Heritability of attention problems in children: longitudinal results from a study of twins, age 3 to 12
Article Abstract:
The Child Behavior Check List (CBCL) gives a correct indication of the attention problems (AP) and overactive behavior (OA) in pre-school children and a longitudinal study was conducted to report on the size of genetic and environmental effects on individual differences in attention problems at ages 3 to 12. It was found that OA and AP are highly heritable at all ages and children who do not display such behavior at a given age are unlikely to develop this at a later age.
