Body shape questionnaire: studies of validity and reliability
Article Abstract:
The Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ) was applied on a sample of 466 individuals to determine its reliability and validity in measuring body image. The subjects are classified into three segments: clinical samples with body image problems, non-clinical subjects of adults and college students and obese persons who would like to reduce weight. Results indicate BSQ's test-retest reliability and its validity with other measures of body image.

Development of a body image assessment procedure for children and preadolescents
Article Abstract:
The Body Image Assessment Procedure for Children (BIA-C) or the Body Image Assessment Procedure for PreAdolescents (BIA-P) and the Children's Eating Attitude Test (ChEAT) were administered to 257 children to determine the acceptability of these methods as standard forms of measurement. Results confirm the validity and reliability of BIA-P and BIA-C. However, different methods are needed for male and female subjects.
