Parent-child dyadic mutuality and child behavior problems: an investigation of gene-environment process
Article Abstract:
The study examined the parent-child bonding that had emotional reciprocity, cooperation and co-responsiveness, disruption in regulation/norm, which led to behavioral problems. The study concluded that mother-children mutuality was child specific within the family, a finding that is consistent with the previous theory of bi-directional parent and child effects in socialization.
