Children's memory for early experience
Article Abstract:
Some new trends in research on early memory involve developing relations with related areas of study. For example, research on memory development has become better integrated with the broader study of cognitive development. A two-way relationship between memory development and neurological development has also been unfolding. Changes in the study of adult memory have affected the study of memory development. In addition, more emphasis has been placed on how memory research applies to real-world contexts.

Overt and covert recognition of faces in children and adults
Article Abstract:
Covert visual recognition of faces may be doubly dissociable from overt visual recognition of faces, as shown by two experiments. In Experiment I for face-recognition effects, a group of five year old children showed familiarity to the face-matching, similar to the normal adults. The Experiment II showed no effects for the same faces. Thus, finding a double dissociation places constraints on the previous models of face recognition which linked covert and overt recognition.

Remembering versus knowing the past: children's explicit and implicit memories for pictures
Article Abstract:
Realization of perceptual fluency as an indicator of previous experience may lead to age-related improvements in explicit memory. Significant implicit memory for pictures is seen in 3 years-olds after a delay of three months, although explicit memory is absent. Adults show a correlation between recognition memory and perpetual facilities that is not found in children aged 3 or 5.
