Competence under challenge: Exploring the protective influence of parental support and ethnic identity in Latino college students
Article Abstract:
The longitudinal study is conducted to examine the protective influence of psychological and family factors on academic achievement in 123 Latino College. The findings of the study suggest that Latino students with greater psychological and family resources evidence greater academic achievement and both ethnic identity and parental support moderated the effects of low socioeconomic status on academic achievement.

Hierarchical classification and the integration of self-structure in late adolescence
Article Abstract:
A study of 1st year and 4th year college students show that adolescence build a variety of social personas to cope with different social situations. The older college students had integrated these multiple selves into a well integrated hierarchical classification system.

Pathways to self-esteem in late adolescence: The role of parent and peer attachment, empathy, and social behaviors
Article Abstract:
Both direct and indirect relations of parent and peer attachment with self-esteem and the potential mediating roles of empathy and social behavior are examined. Structural equation modeling revealed that parental attachment had mostly direct effects on self-esteem.
