Computer technology training in the workplace: a longitudinal investigation of the effect of mood
Article Abstract:
A longitudinal analysis of the short- and long-term effects of employee mood on motivation and intention toward using a specific computer technology is presented. Participants for the study were 316 employees from a midsize accounting firm whose computer-based training was analyzed at two points in time: immediately after training and six weeks after training. One of three mood treatments, namely positive, negative or control mood was assigned to each employee, The results and their implications for employee training are discussed.
