Construction and psychometric characteristics of two self-report questionnaires for the assessment of fear of flying
Article Abstract:
Different measures are required to fully measure fear of flying. One measure is connected with the level of fear created by different air-travel situations, while the other is linked with the modality in which fear is experienced. It appears that flight anxiety is specifically connected with different situations linked with air travel. Together, a Fight Anxiety Modality questionnaire and a Flight Anxiety Situation questionnaire could be valuable in measuring different elements of fear of flying and analyzing treatment effects.

Psychometric properties of the MSPSS and NOS in psychiatric outpatients
Article Abstract:
A study of 144 psychiatric outpatients aged 21 to 67 years who completed the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) and the Network Orientation Scale (NOS) showed high internal consistency for the MSPSS and adequate internal consistency for the NOS. This indicated that the MSPSS and the NOS are reliable self-report scales although there are some limitations. The scores on both scales of these outpatients were lower as compared to 'normals.'
