The authors have identified 3 variables that reliably determine the level of physical activity in children and teenagers. These are spending afternoons on sports and related tasks, enjoying physical education, and physical activity as a family value.

The impact of the intervention on multiple versus a single health behavior with adolescents is evaluated. Interventions are compared targeting physical activity and nutrition (PAN) concurrently verus physical activity (PA) alone.
