Cross-cultural priorities in developing autism services
Article Abstract:
The eight principles of autism treatment developed by the Division for the Treatment and Education of the Autistic and related Communication Handicapped Children (TEACCH) program at the Univ. of North Carolina at Chapel Hill have been adopted by many other governmental programs internationally. A review of the principles, and a tally how many of them have been used abroad, is provided.

Meeting the needs of persons with autism: a regional network model
Article Abstract:
The Midi-Pyrenees region of France has a well-developed diagnosis and treatment program that contains many elements of the North Carolina Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication Handicapped Children program. However, more progress is needed, especially in parental collaboration features.

Evolution of services for people with autism and their families in France: influence of the TEACCH program
Article Abstract:
The usage of Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication Handicapped Children program elements in France's child psychiatry profession, is analyzed. Structured education is the most frequently used technique, but adult services are meager.
