Does early intervention improve the prognosis in anorexia nervosa? A systemic review of the treatment-outcome literature
Article Abstract:
A review of the treatment-outcome studies reveals that these studies fail to to estimate the prognostic value of early intervention in the treatment of anorexia nervosa. Some of the studies show that the duration of illness is unrelated to the outcome of the treatment. Others report a negative relation between the duration of illness and the treatment outcome. The studies stress more on the duration of illness, than on the occurrence of early intervention. Such shortcomings make it difficult to evaluate the prognostic value of early intervention.

Group psychoeducation for bulimia nervosa with and without additional psychotherapy process sessions
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to determine whether additional psychotherapy process sessions will further enhance treatment of bulimics who have undergone brief group psychoeducation. Bulimia nervosa subjects were subjected to five group psychoeducation sessions supplemented with seven additional sessions. Results show that additional cognitive-behavioral group process interventions do not significantly alter premature termination and eating symptoms remission rates.
