Does establishing fidelity of treatment help in understanding treatment efficacy? Comment on Bellg et al. (2004)
Article Abstract:
The Behavior Change Consortium (BCC; Bellg et al. 2004) has recommended five sets of 'standard of performance' in treatment fidelity- study design, provider training, treatment delivery, treatment receipt and enactment of treatment skills to ensure the fidelity of clinical trials testing behavioral interventions. The reasons and shortcomings in the proposed 'standards of performance' in fidelity treatment, due to which they cannot be implemented in clinical practice, are analyzed.

Observer ratings of health and sickness: can other people tell us anything about our health that we don't already know?
Article Abstract:
The investigation of the information that the observers used while rating the health status of older adults whom they administered health interviews, is done. The observers' ratings of health and sickness were more correlated with the severity of participants' self-reported health conditions than with participants' self-ratings of health.
