Assessment of ADHD symptoms: comment on Gomez et al. (2003)
Article Abstract:
The degree to which parent and teacher ratings of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are accounted for trait, source and error variance is examined by Gomez et al. The importance and limitations of Gomez et al.'s findings are discussed in the context of clinical and research assessments of children suspected of having ADHD.

Article Abstract:
The two suggestions for additional research to understand the strong source effects reported by Gomez et al in attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) rating scales given by G.J. DuPaul are inspected for bias and accuracy. Various suggestions to reduce the bias in ADHD rating scales are offered.

A multitrait_multisource confirmatory factor analytic approach to the construct validity of ADHd rating scales
Article Abstract:
The implications of strong source effects for understanding attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are discussed. The constructed validity of ADHD was evaluated using a multitrait-mutisource design modeled on confirmatory factor analysis.
