Dualisms displaced: from crusades to analytic distinctions
Article Abstract:
Eugene Matusov examined the notion of internalization and its relation with specific sociocultural practices. He compared internalization and participation orientations through an emphasis on the notions of separability/inseparability, solo/joint activity and mutual constitution. His contribution along this field is remarkable because it differentiates between the theoretical construct of participation and internalization, and it indicates a move toward the elimination of the hero figure in North American educational and psychological discourse.

Commentary
Article Abstract:
Daniel E. Greenberg's article 'The Object Permanence Fallacy' is commended for reiterating the relevance of the continuing research on cognition, which interrelates the study of thought with the study of thirst and feeling, by a convincing account of the significance of impermanence in the baby's life. His article may be considered an objective treatment of the sensitivity of the baby's cosmos, and is best appreciated when the reader considers these observations as integral to the baby's mental life.
