Effect of test administration set on the psychological inventory of criminal thinking styles (PICTS)
Article Abstract:
A study ascertains whether scores on the Psychological Inventory of Criminal Thinking Styles (PICTS) vary as a function of administration set by administering PICTS in different contexts on male prisoners admitted to a medium-security federal correctional facility. Results indicate that the context under which a psychological measure such as the PICTS is administered can have an impact on the eventual results and that the reason why an evaluation is being conducted needs to be taken into account when interpreting the results of the evaluation.

Predictive validity
Article Abstract:
The Psychological Inventory of Criminal Thinking Styles (PICTS) is an effective predictor of disciplinary problems in inmates. This was confirmed in a group of 536 inmates in a medium-security facility. Age was also a good predictor a disciplinary status, but several PICTS scales not using the age variable were also effective predictors.
