Effects of expectancy on assessing covariation in data: "prior belief" versus "meaning."
Article Abstract:
Research on the effect of prior beliefs on correlation assessments of summarized data were conducted. Previous belief systems and background knowledge create a bias which affects the acceptance of tasks presented. Results have shown that the lack of any prior knowledge of the variables concerned have produced the best production results. Mutual relevance assessments are inflential in individual performance abilities.

Epistemological beliefs and reflective judgement
Article Abstract:
A survey investigating the relationship between epistemological beliefs and reasoning of 125 undergraduate college students concluded that individuals evoke epistemological beliefs when engaged in ill-defined reasoning. The beliefs are related to age and education, beliefs change with an increase of reasoning and some beliefs are better predictors of change when age and education and controled.
