Anger bulimic psychopathology: Gender differences in a nonclinical group
Article Abstract:
A study on whether men and women differ in their anger profiles and link between their anger and bulimic psychopathology was investigated on 125 men and 125 women. The results showed that men appear to engage in bulimic behaviors to reduce anger states whereas women appear to use such behaviors to reduce the likelihood of anger states from arising.

Emotional eating and eating psychopathology in nonclinical groups: a cross-cultural comparison of women in Japan and the United Kingdom
Article Abstract:
There are clear patterns of cross-cultural difference in the associations between emotional eating and eating attitudes in Japanese and British women. For Japanese women living in Japan, the links were not reliable but were usually negative. For British women, emotional eating was connected with both the Dieting and the Bulimia subscale. It appears that emotional eating in itself is not a psychopathological problem, as its presence in Japanese culture did not involve disturbed eating attitudes.
