Escaping or connecting? Characteristics of youth who form close online relationships
Article Abstract:
Research with Internet users aged 10 to 17 suggests girls experiencing significant conflict with parents or other personal problems are more likely than other girls to develop online relationships, while boys developing such relationships tended to communicate little with parents or have significant personal problems. Such youth risk online exploitation yet can also find such relationships helpful.

A comparison of self-reported puberty using the Pubertal Development Scale and the Sexual Maturation Scale in a school-based epidemiologic survey
Article Abstract:
The measure of pubertal development and its definition in a large-scale epidemiological study is focused using Tanner's Sexual Maturation Scale (SMS) and Pubertal Developmental Scale (PDS) and their acceptability to adolescents. The Tanner measure is less acceptable as it involves physician examination, while PDS is a useful alternative given the better rate of response.
