Preconscious processing of threat cues: impact on eating among women with unhealthy eating attitudes
Article Abstract:
The impact of different forms of threat cues on the eating behavior of women with healthy eating attitudes was investigated. Sixty non-eating-disordered subjects participated in the experiment which presented three subliminal visual stimuli, namely, ego threat, physical threat and neutral message. Results show that women with healthy eating attitudes ate more after being exposed to the ego threat but not after the physical threat. In contrast, women with unhealthy eating attitudes ate more after being exposed to both ego and physical threats.

Eating behaviors and attitudes in women with infertility: a controlled study
Article Abstract:
This article examines how eating behaviors and attitudes may contribute to infertility in women. The authors, analyzing results from a study that included 120 subjects with infertility, 80 fertile women, and 90 women with anorexia nervosa, conclude that infertile women without eating disorders share some of same psychological charactheristics as women with severe eating disorders, such as feelings of inadequacy and insecurity.

Impulsivity in women with eating disorders: Problem of response inhibition, planning, or attention?
Article Abstract:
The association between eating disorders (EDs) and various component dimensions of the impulsivity construct are examined. The results suggest that binge-eating behavior coincides with problems of response inhibition, whereas a risk-taking attitude might be a unique characteristic of individuals with bulimia nervosa.
