Expectancy priming of smoking cessation messages enhances the placebo effect of tailored interventions
Article Abstract:
Previous research by Webb et, al. on the positive reactions of smokers on personally tailored self-help materials is extended by testing the efficacy expectancy priming prior to the start of intervention. It is found that pretreatment expectancy priming significantly also produce superior outcomes.
