Gender differences in implicit weight identity
Article Abstract:
This article examines gender differences in attitudes toward overweightness and weight identity. The authors, analyzing results from a questionnaire, conclude both genders had negative attitudes toward overweightness, whereas gender differences arose for weight identity with men identifying themselves as lighter than they really were and women having a more realistic perspective.

Stress situation reveals an association between perfectionism and drive for thinness
Article Abstract:
This article examines whether stress is related to eating disorders among individuals with perfectionistic personality traits. The authors, evaulating a sample of 42 female high school students, conclude body dissatisfaction was associated with perfectionism and a drive for thinness which suggest stress may be a risk factor for eating disorders in perfectionists.

Selective mood-induced body image disparagement and enhanced effects: are they due to cognitive priming or subjective mood?
Article Abstract:
The effects of mood induction procedures (MIP) on body image are evaluated. The results state that individuals in the self-referent MIP who had high negative body image at the pretest demonstrated increases in negative body image after exposure to the negative valence MIP.
